Frequently Asked Questions

What Kind Of Music Do You Play?

Practically anything you wish. The bottom line is, it's your party, your event, your night. One of my first questions is always "what kind of music do you require". I work with you closely to ensure you get the type of music that you and your guests like and also what is right for your party or event. Floorfillerz music spans over 6 decades, encapsulating the finest musical moments along the way.

Will You Play Requests?

Short Answer - Yes.

Long Answer - Again, working with you before the event, Floorfillerz provide you with a unique 'Event Form' - There is a section for specific music & song requests on this form, as well as other pieces of relevant information. We ask for this form back a week before your event so we can plan your specific set-list and (in the unlikely event of not having a certain track) source any specific song requests you have made.

Of course we'll take requests on the night as well from you and your guests, and with a database of around 22,000+ songs with us at any event - you can be sure approximately 95% of requests can be met within seconds. If one of your guests requests a song we don't have on the night, the likelihood is that that particular song shouldn't be let near a dance floor in the first place.

Also on your Event Form is a section for songs and music you definitely don't want played at your Event, as we feel this is important too.

How Long Do You Need To Set Up, And How Much Space Do You Need?

This is determined purely by size of venue. Floorfillerz can chop and change equipment (without compromising on quality) to fit the venue. We can work in very small spaces and venues, and unsurprisingly we can also work in large venues and fill the space.

The average set-up normally takes between 1hr - 1hr.15mins from arrival at the venue. The larger set-up can sometimes take between 2 & 3 hrs. It is always far faster to take the equipment down again, and this takes roughly 45mins -1 hr regardless of the size of the original set-up.

In the majority of Events we will liaise with the venue and take this process out of your hands. We prefer to set up on the morning of the Event (venue permitting) at no extra cost.

What Kind Of Lighting Do You Use?

Floorfillerz have a large variety of coloured lighting and effects in order to create the right mood at your party. We have Lasers, LEDs and intelligent lighting including moving heads. Floorfillerz can supply subtle lighting up to nightclub style lighting. Whatever style you prefer will be used. We also use stage smoke to dramatically enhance the lighting (venue permitting) at no extra cost.

We can provide a colour wash if requested (e.g. uplighting behind a top table during a wedding reception meal).

Floorfillerz do not use dedicated strobe lighting.

Does It Cost More If My Party Is In An Upstairs Venue?

No. Unlike other companies, Floorfillerz do not charge extra for upstairs venues.

All we ask is that you make us aware as this at the time of booking as this will affect the set-up, and we'll need to allow more time to get equipment into the venue.

Do You Confirm In Writing?

Yes. When you make a booking with Floorfillerz you receive all relevant paperwork showing details of your function. You'll receive a Booking Confirmation letter and a SEDA approved contract designed to protect both yourself and the Disco/ DJ.

This is signed by both Floorfillerz and yourself. You receive both the Booking Confirmation, Invoice, Booking T&Cs and your Event Form by post.

We also send you electronically via email, the invoice as a PDF file and your Event Form as an editable Microsoft word document.

What Will The DJ Wear?

Quite simply, clothing that is appropriate to the occasion.

When DJing a Wedding Reception Disco, smart trouser and a shirt are standard, often the shirt will be chosen to match the Brides colour scheme.

If you have any special requests as to what the DJ should wear then please don't hesitate to ask.

p.s. No I'm not wearing a chicken costume!

Have You got Public Liability Insurance?

Yes. Floorfillerz hold £10 million Public Liability Insurance Cover - a copy of our certificate can be seen upon request.

What About Health & Safety - Is Your Equipment Tested?

Yes. All Floorfillerz equipment is Portable Appliance (PAT) tested annually in accordance with the Health & Safety Executive, Electricity at Work Act 1989 - A copy of our test certificate is available upon request.

Can I Speak to or Meet The DJ Beforehand?

Absolutely Yes. This is certainly encouraged. If you feel you would like a face to face consultation to discuss your function, then please request to do so.

We will arrange a time and place that is both suitable and convenient for you.
